DeStarté Gardens

DeStarté Gardens sits beautifully among pines and poplars, surrounded by gorgeous landscaping and brick walkways.  What began as Glenda's family bicentennial farmhouse, the original building was destroyed by a tornado in 1989 and the current main house was built in its place. The original barn structure which accommodated the family’s horses, has since been renovated and turned into a stunning multi bedroom facility.

The estate has three buildings on the property. The Main House is a four guest bedroom, three bath home that sleeps up to 12 guests. The Barn sleeps up to eight people, while The Kemosabe Cabin  sleeps four.

“In the Midst of Nowhere, but On The Way to Somewhere.”  DeStarté Gardens is a blissfully quiet bed & breakfast and wedding venue where guests are free to relax, unplug, rejuvenate, regroup, or runaway.  Whatever leads you here, you are sure to find yourself again.

Meet The Owner

Glenda Miller

The DeStarté farm has been in Glenda’s family since 1803.  Born and raised here, Glenda learned the workings of a Bicentennial North Carolina farm.

However, in 1989, a devastating EF-5 tornado leveled the entire area including her family farm and home.  On April 1st, 1995 after rebuilding; Glenda opened DeStarté Gardens and Redbone Willy’s Trading Company .
